Whitney D. Weiner is a visionary startup leader dedicated to creating and managing a rapidly growing network of dental practices throughout metro Detroit that provide the community with the highest level of comprehensive dental care. Before her move to Detroit, Dr. Weiner completed a fellowship at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in East London, England, where she provided care to an impoverished, largely immigrant population. She practiced for two years in Australia, where she was the only periodontist in a multispecialty dental practice, building a clinic that created a new vision for comprehensive approaches to dental care. She is recognized nationally for her team-based approach that uplifts and inspires her employees and for her community outreach, both personally and professionally.

Products And Services
Crowns and Bridges
Dental crowns and bridges are suggested after carefully considering your needs. That means we only suggest a crown when absolutely necessary. A crown may be the treatment option of choice when:
A cavity in your tooth is too large for a normal filling to function properly
A tooth is cracked
Root canal treatment has been completed
An implant has been placed
Fluoride Treatments
Fluoride is a natural mineral that helps build strong teeth and prevent cavities.
It has been an essential part of dentistry for decades. Fluoride benefits both children and adults. Studies have repeatedly shown that the earlier children are exposed to fluoride, the less likely they are to develop cavities.

Pediatric Dentist
Any parent knows that convincing your toddler to brush his or her teeth can be a constant battle. Kids are so busy exploring the world around them and finding new fun ways to play, they easily lose focus and have trouble staying still long enough to brush their teeth effectively. However, this is a critical time that you work with your child to establish a dental care routine. Make it fun! By establishing good habits at an early age you are setting your child up for a lifetime of healthy smiles.
Dentures
Dentures make it easier to eat and speak better than you could without teeth. When you lose all of your teeth, facial muscles can sag, making you prematurely age. Dentures can help fill out the appearance of your face and profile. We can make your dentures so they closely resemble your natural teeth, minimizing any change in your appearance. Or we can give you a straighter, whiter smile if you are looking for a cosmetic enhancement. The choice is yours.
Root Canal Therapy
At Whole Dental, root canal treatment is a common and straightforward procedure to relieve dental pain and save your tooth. Millions of teeth are successfully treated every year with root canal therapy. Typically a root canal is needed when there is inflammation or infection inside the roots of a tooth.
Dental Night Guard
Custom made mouth guards are far more effective – and comfortable – then over the counter splints you can buy at your local drugstore. When you come for your customized mouth guard dentists at Whole Dental Wellness will work with you, utilizing our latest technology, ensuring a great experience every time. First we will take a digital scan of your teeth and surrounding gums. We then transmit this information to a local lab – along with what colors you would like your custom guard to be – and a week or so later we will have your personalized mouthguard ready for wear!

Dental Facial Injectables
As we age, skin starts to lose volume and begins to sag. If you are looking for facial rejuvenation injectables may be right for you. These injectables work by increasing skin volume, producing a younger, more voluminous you. Fuller lips are in style and considered sexy and attractive. Fillers can enhance the volume and fullness and balance uneven or lopsided lips.

Treatment Options For Missing Teeth
In health, this root is visible only on dental x-rays. When a tooth is lost, it is necessary to replace both the tooth crown and root. A dental implant is a replacement for the root component of a tooth. For implant placement, it is essential that you work with a highly trained surgeon who can manage placing your implant in an ideal position. In some cases, it may be necessary to “grow back” missing bone or gum tissue prior to placement of your dental implant to obtain both an ideal aesthetic and functional result.
Dental Implants
A dental implant is a titanium-based fixture used in dentistry to restore a site previously occupied by a tooth. Today, dental implants are considered the standard of care to replace missing teeth, with success rates in healthy patients of over 98%.
Periodontal maintenance
Once it is determined that your bone and gums are at a healthy state, periodontal maintenance is always recommended. There are two types of patients who require periodontal maintenance. For most patients with advanced disease, three month maintenance appointments are crucial to maintaining periodontal health. Thus, you can see that working in partnership with your periodontal team there are several things you can do to help reach your goal of healthy gums for a lifetime.
Periodontal Surgery
The goal of our periodontal therapy is to stop the progression of gum and bone loss and get your mouth to a healthy state. The initial stage of treatment is typically scaling and root planing to remove bacteria and calculus from below the gum line.
While this is an important step in the road to periodontal health, several studies have shown that it is virtually impossible to remove all the plaque and bacteria from pockets that are 5 mm and deeper. When deep pockets between teeth persist following this initial therapy, it is difficult for dental professionals and patients alike to keep these pockets bacteria and calculus free. Due to this, surgery is often necessary to restore periodontal health.
Gum Recession Treatment
Gingival recession is the exposure of the roots of teeth caused by loss of gum tissue and/or retraction of the gum margin away from the crown of the tooth. When recession occurs, the body loses a natural defense mechanism against bacterial penetration and trauma (often from your toothbrush!). Sometimes, when only minor recession is present and some healthy gum remains to protect the tooth, no treatment other than modifying home oral hygiene is necessary. However, when gum recession becomes a problem, soft tissue augmentation is an option to repair lost and damaged tissue.
Laser Dentistry
Many patients find laser dentistry to be a more comfortable alternative to traditional dental tools.
With extensive training on LANAP (Laser Assisted New Attachment Procedure) and LAPIP (Laser-Assisted Peri-implantitis Procedure), our laser dentistry specialists at Whole Dental Wellness can help ease your anxiety and maintain your smile with these innovative procedures.
